Remarks Popular during the late sixties Reggae era, but over the years as got caught up in the slackness debate. That was used as a stick to beat reggae music with time and time again. Some 25,000 tunes were released from 1968-71 – the reggae era. I doubt if .025 per cent of them were slack. Call it 100 tunes. Would it have made certain people feel better if these tunes were banned? Just enjoy the mad rhythm – don’t listen to the lyrics. Or listen, but try to imagine the context of the release.
