Remarks New LP from Jahug, aka Kongo Carl I. Carl I began as the journalist Carl Gayle, writing articles and reviews for Black Music magazine from 1973 to 1977. His articles between these tumultuous years for the music covered the reggae scene, especially in Jamaica, with insight and perception and remain amongst the best writings on reggae music extant. He then published the Rastafarian journal Jahug which ran for numerous issues into the early nineties. A few years ago he released his first album Keep My Fire Burnin' and Healing represents his most recent thoughts and meditations, benefitting greatly from the stirling musical accompaniement provided by the musicians chosen, including BDF's Inyaki Yarritu.
